In this live, online course participants will explore the functional implications of auditory defensiveness (and misophonia) and the direct link between the auditory system and primary movement patterns. This course will delve into the orienting-defensive continuum and the physiologic impact of a defensive response on movement patterns, arousal levels, and function. Video case presentation will be used to show practical clinical applications.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate between auditory defensiveness and auditory defensiveness originating from spatial difficulties.
  • Identify the impact of a defensive response on an individual’s movement and holding patterns.
  • Select three treatment strategies essential to address auditory defensiveness from a whole body perspective.
  • Recognize when to precisely implement each of the three different types of auditory treatment tools depending on client’s clinical picture.

Recording Details

The course recording will be offered for a limited time, and the registration deadline is January 26th. The viewing window for the recording special begins on Friday, February 1, 2019 and expires on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11:59pm CST. You may view the recording at your leisure during the viewing window — break it up or watch it all at once…it’s up to you! However, access to the recording, test and course materials will no longer be available after the noted time; please plan accordingly.

You will receive an email on February 1st by 5:00pm CST to access the course recording and printable handouts. Your device must have access to an internet connection and the capability to stream YouTube videos.

To receive credit for viewing the course recording, viewers are required to submit their test with a passing score (70% or higher) no later than Friday, February 15th at 11:59pm CST. Viewers can expect to receive a Certificate of Completion via email by Friday, February 22nd.

Cancellations requesting a refund must be in writing and received by Vital Links two weeks prior to the course; refunds will not be granted after that date. Cancellation requests may transfer full credit towards another Vital Links course if notification is received in writing at least 7 business days prior to the start date.

Vital Links is not responsible for device compatibility issues, and it is each registrant’s responsibility to ensure his/her device is compatible with the noted platform and services. Any difficulty with compatibility is not grounds for a refund after the live webinar session begins.

Vital Links reserves the right to cancel any course with due cause and refund in full.
