SUMMARY:Building Blocks for Sensory Integration
DESCRIPTION:This two-day experiential course provides therapists with an in-depth understanding of the developmental and neurophysiological links between sensory integration and the basic primary movement patterns that provide the foundation (or building blocks) for sensory modulation and integration. Beginning with support of the primitive reflexes\, we will explore the development of posture and its relationship to gross and fine motor skills along with visual and auditory function. Hands-on demonstrations\, movement labs\, and video examples will highlight treatment strategies that can be implemented with and without therapy equipment\, making them appropriate for all clinical settings. \nLocation\nEstréia\n978 River Avenue\nLakewood\, NJ 08701 \nSchedule\nDay 1: Sunday\, June 26\, 2016\, 8:15am – 4:30pm EDT\nDay 2: Monday\, June 27\, 2016\, 8:15am – 4:30pm EDT \nLevel\nIntroductory \nCourse Objectives\nUpon completion of this course\, participants will be able to: \n\nDescribe the link between reflex integration\, postural development\, sensory modulation\, and behavioral challenges.\nEvaluate primitive and postural reflex development\, and identify its impact on daily function.\nDesign simple yet powerful strategies for integration across multiple environments.\n\n\n		\n		Continuing Ed \n		\n \nVital Links is an AOTA approved provider of continuing education.
