SUMMARY:Exploring Therapeutic Listening in Practice: A Mentorship Series
DESCRIPTION:The Listening with the Whole Body Course is Just the Beginning.\nJoin the Vital Links Team for the evolution of Therapeutic Listening with the upcoming small group Mentorship series. In this video\, Sheila and Tracy share the background regarding the aim of this series and the goal of partnering with the Vital Links community to support the implementation of Therapeutic Listening among practitioners. We hope you can join us! \n \nCourse Description\nFormalized mentorship opportunities provide a platform for practicing therapists to expand their skills\, participate in rich discussions\, and enhance their clinical reasoning process to ultimately support professional growth and development. This Therapeutic Listening® mentorship series will explore the use and clinical applications of all the Therapeutic Listening libraries among participants who have previously completed the ‘Listening with the Whole Body’ training course. \nParticipants will need to submit one case\, over the course of the series\, where Therapeutic Listening has been utilized as part of a larger treatment protocol. Participants will be encouraged to utilize a provided case presentation template (including initial assessment findings\, key insight gained from the Functional Listening Questionnaire and caregiver/client interview\, and individualized music progressions) to share their own cases and accompanying questions related to the individualized implementation of Therapeutic Listening with their clients. \nTo support the translation of research into practice\, participants will also examine the existing research on Therapeutic Listening and analyze how this information may influence future clinical use of this therapeutic tool. Each session\, instructors will provide adjunct lectures and clinical case examples on topics related to the successful implementation of Therapeutic Listening and expanding clinical reasoning skills\, including case-study examples of how different clinical pictures benefit from different Therapeutic Listening progressions and unique elements of music; identifying and combining complementary therapeutic treatments with Therapeutic Listening; and the importance of understanding state and arousal regulation when matching music. By the end of this interactive series\, instructors aim to expand and broaden therapists’ use and understanding of Therapeutic Listening to enrich their own clinical practice. \n*This is a small group learning experience\, seats are limited\, and live course attendance is expected. While all participants are required to submit one case during the series\, all cases may not be presented within the live mentorship group.   \nParticipants are required to have taken at least the ‘Listening with the Whole Body’ course prior to attending the mentorship series. However\, as the case examples are not limited to only the modulated music\, completion of the training courses pertaining to the Quickshifts\, Spatially Enhanced\, and Fine-Tuning selections are recommended.  \nScroll down to Register\n\nFree Mentorship Series Q&A\nInterested in registering for the course\, but want to learn more first?\nLive Webinar with Recording Access\nWednesday\, September 7\n12:00pm CDT \nJoin our open discussion to learn more about the benefits of formal mentorship and how it can impact your clinical practice.
SUMMARY:Embodied Sensation: Harnessing the Power of Interoception and Proprioception- Live w/ Recording
DESCRIPTION:Updated Course: Expanded Content for One-Day of Learning!\nRecording Access Available! \nProprioception and interoception are frequently discussed within the field of occupational therapy to describe one’s awareness of their body position relative to the world around them and internal signals. For individuals who experience difficulties with sensory modulation and sensory processing\, inadequate interoceptive and proprioceptive awareness may contribute to struggles with body awareness\, breath regulation\, adaptable states of arousal\, organized movement and praxis\, and regulation and awareness of homeostatic functions and affective emotion. Effective treatment strategies aim to modulate sensation\, and support proprioceptive and interoceptive balance within the context of meaningful occupational participation. \nDrawing from current science\, this course will explore the neurological and anatomical foundations for proprioception\, interoception\, and vestibular processing. Practical application and discussions will illuminate how these sensations play a key role in self-referencing and body mapping for enhanced sense of our physical and emotional self. Therapists will leave this course with a comprehensive understanding of these key therapeutic concepts\, along with a variety of practical and precise therapeutic activities that can be implemented across environments. \nScroll down to Register\nLocation\nOnline with Recording Option* \nSchedule\nFull Agenda\nFriday\, March 3\, 2023\, 9:00am – 4:45pm Central Standard Time (CST)\nCheck-in begins at 8:30am CST\nTest begins at approx. 4:15pm CST \nLive Webinar Registration Closes:\nFriday\, March 3rd at 7:30am CST \nRecording Registration Closes:\nTuesday\, March 7th at 10:00am CST \nCan’t make it on March 3rd? SUMMARY:Exploring Therapeutic Listening in Practice: A Mentorship Series
DESCRIPTION:The Listening with the Whole Body Course is Just the Beginning.\nJoin the Vital Links Team for the evolution of Therapeutic Listening with the upcoming 5-week small group Mentorship series. This 5-week Therapeutic Listening® mentorship series will explore the use and clinical applications of all the Therapeutic Listening libraries among participants who have previously completed the ‘Listening with the Whole Body’ training course. \nScroll down to Register\nLocation\nOnline* \nSchedule\nFull Agenda\nDay 1: Tuesday\, November 7\, 2023\, 6:00 – 7:30pm Central STANDARD Time (CST) \nDay 2: Tuesday\, November 14\, 2023\, 6:00 – 7:30pm CST \nDay 3: Tuesday\, November 21\, 2023\, 6:00 – 7:30pm CST \nDay 4: Tuesday\, November 28\, 2023\, 6:00 – 7:30pm CST \nDay 5: Tuesday\, December 5\, 2023\, 6:00 – 7:30pm CST \n*Check-in begins at 5:45pm CST for all days  \n  \nLevel\nIntermediate \nInstructors\nSheila M. SUMMARY:Embodied Sensation: Harnessing the Power of Interoception and Proprioception- Live Webinar w/ Recording
\nReceive the Gertie Ball and Power Up Ball from Vital Sounds for the special rate of 15% off when you register for the Embodied Sensation: Harnessing the Power of Interoception and Proprioception course (S&H fees apply^). Vital Sounds coupon will be provided in course registration receipt. \nTake an additional discount of $15 per participant for groups of 3 or more individuals enrolling simultaneously under the same web-order. \nScroll down to Register\nLocation\nOnline with Recording Option* \nSchedule\nFull Agenda\nFriday\, December 15\, 2023\, 9:00am – 4:45pm Central Standard Time (CST)\nCheck-in begins at 8:30am CST\nTest begins at approx. 4:15pm CST \nLive Webinar Registration Closes:\nFriday\, December 15th at 7:30am CST \nRecording Registration Closes:\nTuesday\, December 19th at 10:00am CST \nCan’t make it on December 15th?
