DESCRIPTION:‘Sharpening Focus’ takes you beyond the basics of matching music to a client’s needs and teaches an understanding of the specific use and application of a variety of electronic modifications of sound. This course will assist the therapist trained in the basics of modulated music to gain a deeper knowledge of how challenges with audition and auditory processing disrupt attention\, learning\, and praxis. In addition\, a new tool\, the Forbrain®\, will be introduced for use in Therapeutic Listening® protocols. \nLocation\nOnline webinar \nDate and Time\nFriday\, April 1\, 2016\n8:30am – 5:00pm CDT \nLevel\nIntermediate\, pre-requisite completion of course entitled Listening with the Whole Body \nCourse Objectives\nUpon completion of this workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\nMake appropriate Fine Tuning Mountain album selections and choose a musical progression based on the client’s individual clinical picture.\nDesign a comprehensive Therapeutic Listening musical progression that includes the use of a variety of sound tools to support specific functional outcomes.\nLearn how to stimulate active bone conductions through the use of Forbrain® (a self-conducting auditory feed back headset).\n\n6 credits

SUMMARY:Therapeutic Listening:  Listening with the Whole Body
DESCRIPTION:In this two-day initial training level online workshop\, participants will learn to use Therapeutic Listening® modulated audio selections to create individualized\, home-based programs for clients. This workshop will take participants from client assessment through treatment with a strong emphasis practical application using multiple case studies. \nLocation\nOnline \nSchedule\nDay 1: Friday\, April 29\, 2016\, 8:30am – 4:15pm CDT\nDay 2: Saturday\, April 30\, 2016\, 8:30am – 4:45pm CDT \nLevel\nIntroductory \nCourse Objectives\nUpon completion of this workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\nDevelop the relationship between listening and sensory integration.\nIdentify individuals with sensory processing and listening difficulties who may respond well to Therapeutic Listening.\nCreate Therapeutic Listening programs that are adapted to meet specific needs of individual clients.\nDemonstrate understanding of the role of postural\, respiratory\, and sensory strategies that are part of the Therapeutic Listening program.\n\n\n		\n		Continuing Ed \n		\n \nVital Links is an AOTA approved provider of continuing education.
