SUMMARY:Trauma Informed Approach to Sensory Processing Disorder and Arousal Regulation
DESCRIPTION:Early Bird Offer!\nEnroll by July 29\, 2016\nHK$3\,800 \nThere is a growing understanding and accompanying clinical practice that addresses the connection between sensory processing dysfunction and trauma. This two-day\, hands-on course will explore\, from a trauma informed perspective\, the connections  between sensory processing and sensory integrative difficulties. Interactive\, hand-on labs\, videos and case presentations will bring key concepts and treatment strategies to  life in this theoretically based\, yet practical workshop. Brochure\nInternational Location\nShun Wah Building\nClassroom 1-3\, G-F\, InnoCentre\n72 Tat Chee Avenue\nKowloon Tong\, Hong Kong \nSchedule\nFull Agenda\nDay 1: Sunday\, September 4\, 2016\, 8:45am – 5:30pm HKT\nDay 2: Monday\, September 5\, 2016\, 8:45am – 5:30pm HKT \nLevel\nIntroductory \nCourse Objectives\nUpon completion of this course\, participants will be able to: \n\nRecognize when patterns of defense are interfering with function and daily life.\nEmploy three body-based strategies to decrease tension patterns and regulate arousal.\nDesign three play-based strategies that support regulation & arousal and affect & social engagement.\n\n\n \n Continuing Ed \n \n \nVital Links is an AOTA approved provider of continuing education. SUMMARY:Designing Powerful and Precise Sensory Diets
DESCRIPTION:Early Bird Offer!\nEnroll by August 4\, 2016\nHK$1\,900 \nA sensory diet\, a term coined by Patricia Wilbarger\, is a specifically selected activity regime that is used for treatment of Sensory Defensiveness\, as well as\, for difficulties with arousal regulation and sensory modulation.  This one-day course will discuss how to create powerful sensory diets precisely tailored to each client’s unique clinical picture. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of each sensory system and their unique contribution to overall regulation of arousal and affect. Clinical discussions\, ignited by case examples\, will reveal the key observational skills necessary to assess the impact of sensory diet activities on core and breath activation. Hands-on treatment labs will be included throughout the course to provide participants with an opportunity to practice critical observation skills necessary to determine the effectiveness of each activity selection.
