Harnessing the Power of Bone Conduction
December 9, 2016 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm CST| $95
This half-day, online course will explore the neurodevelopmental and therapeutic significance of bone conduction for enhanced vestibular, somatosensory, and visual integration to facilitate spatial orientation, core stability, praxis, executive functioning, and more. Learn the power of utilizing the audio-vocal loops in conjunction with respiration, posture, and movement to ignite self-generated bone conduction—from the inside out and the outside in. Participants will be introduced to a groundbreaking therapeutic tool called the Forbrain® which utilizes a dynamic filter to amplify the user’s voice through bone conduction.
Friday, December 9, 2016, 9:00am – 12:30pm CST
Check-in begins at 8:30am CST
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the significance of the core in relationship to the auditory vocal loop.
- Clarify the difference between bone- and air-conducted sound in terms of CNS processing and its impact on performance.
- Explain the significance of the breath in relationship to bone conducted listening.
- Demonstrate three treatment strategies that activate the inner core to support self-generated bone conduction and address sensory integrative challenges.
