There is a growing understanding and accompanying clinical practice that addresses the connection between sensory processing dysfunction and trauma. This two-day, hands-on course will explore, from a trauma informed perspective, the connections between sensory processing and sensory integrative difficulties. Interactive, hand-on labs, videos and case presentations will bring key concepts and treatment strategies to life in this theoretically based, yet practical workshop.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize when patterns of defense are interfering with function and daily life.
  • Employ three body-based strategies to decrease tension patterns and regulate arousal.
  • Design three play-based strategies that support regulation & arousal and affect & social engagement.

Cancellation

Cancellations must be in writing and received by Vital Links two weeks prior to course; refund will not be granted after that date. Approved course refunds will be issued after the final course date (minus $50 processing fee). You may transfer full registration to another Vital Links course if you notify us two weeks (in-person course) or one week (online course) in advance of a course you are cancelling.

Vital Links reserves the right to cancel any course with due cause and refund in full. Participants purchasing non-refund-able airfare tickets are encouraged to inquire as to course availability before final purchase. Registrant bears sole responsibility for transportation to course. Weather or transportation difficulties are not the responsibility of Vital Links, and failure of a chosen means of transportation is not grounds for registration fee refund when course is held.

Course Materials

Each participant is asked to bring a yoga mat and gym ball. Registration includes Gertie Ball and a Power Up Ball, which will be provided at the course. The items will be utilized during workshop demonstrations and labs. Please Contact Us if you have any questions.
