Suspension & Non-Suspension Equipment Across Environments
This innovative, practical, 4-hour interactive webinar has been created in response to numerous therapists’ desire to broaden their knowledge and utilization of therapy equipment in a variety of environments. Learn how to create, modify, and adapt therapy devices that are safe and low-cost for an array of clients in clinics, homes, and schools. Straight-forward instruction and video demonstrations on, historically, successful construction and installation strategies will be provided. In this live, online course, participants will gain the knowledge necessary to either execute strategies independently or will be able to effectively communicate with another professional. Equipment, devices, and strategies will be geared towards addressing the needs of clients of varying ages and functional levels.
Discussions and demonstrations will address questions such as:
- “How do you make it?”
- “What is it called?”
- “Where can I buy it?”
- “Is it safe?”
- “Which items/strategies are most important, versatile, durable?”
This course is an essential resource for any therapist who wishes to enhance their competency with suspension and non-suspension equipment and for those who wish to further enhance treatment and functional outcomes for their clients.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- List suspension system options for clinic, school, and home environments.
- Recognize the difference between static and dynamic rope and which type of rope is best suited for various applications.
- Determine which knots are the safest and most effective to use in particular circumstances.
- Identify the steps necessary for fabricating at least one therapeutic device.
- Select at least three therapeutic equipment strategies to introduce into the workplace.
