Creating Effective Performance, Precision and Power in Sensory Diets

| $375This two-day online course is designed to provide an understanding of how to effectively apply sensory diets with individuals of all ages with sensory processing disorders. This course will demonstrate strategies to facilitate the design of sensory supportive classrooms, home and community environments. Objectives are aimed at developing an understanding of the vestibular system, postural integration, proprioception, dynamics of breath, rough and tumble play, and using sound as a tool. This practical, hands-on course will immediately support and reinforce successful application of these concepts in clinical practice to clients with sensory modulation disorders.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the research, theory and neuroscience basis of sensory modulation disorders.
- Describe the basic components and maturation of posture.
- Describe the basic components and maturation of breath.
- Describe how the development of sensory and motor functions support self regulation and sensory modulation.
- Describe how somatosensory, vestibular and auditory processing function.
- Apply activities based on enhanced somatosensory, vestibular and auditory stimuli to address modulation and postural function.
- Apply the principle of a sensory diet to the treatment of children with difficulties with sensory modulation and postural disruptions.
