From Eyesight to Insight – Visual and Vestibular Assessment and Treatment

| $425The development of higher-level performance skills, including reading, writing, and receptive and expressive language, is dependent upon a strong sensorimotor foundation. For many children unidentified difficulties with both the visual and vestibular systems can impact optimal performance. Participants will learn directly from an occupational therapist and developmental optometrist how to capture the subtleties of visual-vestibular dysfunction, thus enhancing participants’ ability to optimize treatment planning.

- Determine when to refer clients for an optometric evaluation using standardized criteria.
- Choose powerful treatment strategies that utilize the vestibular-oculomotor-cervical triad.
- Recognize the paradigm shift that indicates functional performance is driven by vision and movement.
